Aug. 24, 2020

Dear Evergreen Parents and Guardians,

I hope that this communication finds you well. I hope that all in your world are safe and healthy during these very unique times.

I am excited to be a part of Evergreen School Community while a new principal is selected to lead here. As a quick overview, I’ve served students and families in Perkiomen Valley since the fall of 1999. I’ve worked as a building level administrator since the fall of 2001. In that capacity I’ve worked at Perkiomen Valley Middle School (When we had one middle school.), opened Perkiomen Valley Middle School West in 2004 until 2013, led Skippack Elementary from the summer of 2013 through 2018. My most recent administrative assignment is serving as the Blue House Principal at Perkiomen Valley High School. It is planned that I will be returning to the High School upon completion of this assignment.

Grab and Go Schedule for Students
We are planning a Grab and Go event for families so that they can pick up materials for learning in the virtual environment. We are working to get these bags together for families to pick up via a drive through method, here at Evergreen, on the following schedule:

Grades 1-3: Monday, August 31, between 3:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.
Grades 4-5: Tuesday, September 1, between 3:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.
*If you have multiple students that span grade levels from this schedule, you may choose to come on either night.

We will have folks directing traffic, with the traffic pattern coming in front of the building off of Campus Drive.

Families who indicated that they needed a chromebook on the survey will pick up their device as a part of the Grab and Go.

Emergency School Board Meeting this evening
A School Board meeting has been scheduled for this evening at 6:30 p.m. You can find the link on the PVSD Homepage

Kindergarten Orientation
It is my intention to write to Kindergarten families tomorrow, following tonight’s School Board meeting. I will provide a link to sign-up and share the finalized days for Kindergarten Orientation. I will also share how orientation will be delivered. Please note that Kindergarten parents will be able to pick up their student’s device at orientation.

It is my goal to send a weekly parents/guardian update during the school year. Please understand that the frequency of communication may increase in the short term as we ramp up to the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns and I will work to follow-up with you in a timely manner.

Again, excited to be a part of your school community as we embark on a new school year.
